Community Guidelines
1. What these Guidelines are for
VIDA is designed for adults to discover people, chat, flirt, date, make friends and form genuine connections.
These Community Guidelines explain the content and conduct that VIDA permits and prohibits.
They apply to profiles, photographs, biographies, messages, interactions, reports and other use of VIDA.
Serious conduct involving somebody you met through VIDA may also be relevant even when it occurs outside VIDA where it creates a credible safety risk, involves fraud or exploitation, or otherwise directly affects the VIDA community.
These Guidelines form part of the rules governing use of VIDA together with the Terms of Use.
Not every uncomfortable interaction is a rules violation. Adults may decline conversations, stop replying, reject romantic interest or decide not to meet another person.
VIDA's rules are intended to address harmful, deceptive, exploitative, unlawful or seriously abusive conduct, not to force people to interact with one another.
2. Adults only
VIDA is strictly for people aged 18 or over.
You must not:
- create or use a VIDA account if you are under 18;
- create an account for a person under 18;
- falsely claim to be 18 or older;
- knowingly help a minor access VIDA; or
- use VIDA to seek romantic or sexual contact with a person you know or reasonably believe is under 18.
VIDA may request reasonable age or eligibility information where necessary to investigate suspected underage use.
Accounts belonging to people under 18 may be removed immediately.
3. Authentic profiles and identity
Your VIDA profile should genuinely represent you.
You must not:
- impersonate another person;
- create a fake persona for deceptive purposes;
- use another person's photographs as though they are you;
- use AI-generated or materially manipulated photographs to falsely represent yourself as a real person you are not;
- deliberately falsify your age;
- falsely claim to control or represent another person's account;
- create replacement accounts to evade a VIDA suspension or ban; or
- materially misrepresent yourself for fraudulent, exploitative or malicious purposes.
VIDA uses usernames and does not require your username to be your legal name.
Being transgender, using VIDA's Trans category, or expressing your gender identity in good faith is not impersonation or misrepresentation.
A disagreement by another member about somebody's gender identity is not by itself evidence of a fake profile.
4. Profile photographs and public content
Public profile content must be suitable for an adult dating and social-discovery environment.
VIDA does not permit public profile content containing:
- nudity or exposed genitals;
- pornography or graphically explicit sexual activity;
- sexual exploitation;
- non-consensual intimate material;
- graphic violence;
- material that promotes serious unlawful conduct; or
- content that otherwise violates these Guidelines.
Non-graphic statements about dating, relationships, flirting or adult romantic intentions are permitted.
Profile content must not advertise commercial sexual services or paid sexual content.
VIDA may remove a photograph or other public content that creates a reasonable safety, privacy or legal concern even where account removal is not necessary.
5. Respect boundaries and consent
Nobody owes another member a reply, date, relationship, telephone number, explanation or continued conversation.
If somebody says no, asks you to stop, blocks you or clearly indicates that they do not want further contact, respect that boundary.
Do not attempt to evade a block or continue unwanted contact through replacement accounts, another person's account or other means.
Consent must be freely given and may be withdrawn.
Previous flirting, previous sexual conversation, exchanging contact details or agreeing to meet does not create permanent consent to later conduct.
6. Sexual conversation and sexual harassment
VIDA is an adult service. Consensual flirting and mutually welcome adult sexual conversation in private messages are not prohibited merely because they are sexual.
However, VIDA does not permit sexual harassment or sexual coercion.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- repeatedly sending unwanted sexual comments after the other person has objected or asked you to stop;
- making unwanted sexual threats or demands;
- pressuring or coercing somebody into sexual activity;
- sending or directing somebody to unsolicited sexually explicit material;
- threatening to publish sexual or intimate information;
- sextortion or sexual blackmail;
- sharing or threatening to share another person's intimate material without their consent;
- fetishizing or sexually degrading another member in a targeted and unwanted manner; or
- using VIDA to facilitate sexual assault or other sexual violence.
A consensual adult conversation can become unwanted. When that happens, the boundary must be respected.
7. Commercial sexual services and paid adult content
VIDA is not a marketplace for sexual services or paid sexual content.
You must not use VIDA to:
- advertise, offer or sell sexual services;
- seek to buy sexual services;
- negotiate prices or payment for sexual activity;
- recruit customers for prostitution or escort services;
- advertise or sell pornography, explicit subscription content or other paid sexual material; or
- redirect members to another service primarily in order to purchase sexual services or paid sexual content.
A person's lawful occupation, including being a sex worker or adult-content creator, is not by itself a violation of these Guidelines.
The violation is using VIDA to advertise, solicit, buy, sell or commercially arrange sexual services or paid sexual content.
Ordinary consensual dating between adults is not treated as a commercial sexual transaction merely because one person pays for a meal, transport or another normal social expense.
8. Scams, fraud, theft and financial solicitation
Do not use VIDA to obtain money, property, credentials or financial benefit through deception, manipulation or false romantic interest.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- romance scams;
- asking VIDA members for loans, investments, donations or financial support;
- requesting gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank transfers or similar payments;
- inventing emergencies or hardship to obtain money;
- investment, trading or cryptocurrency schemes;
- fraudulent business opportunities;
- phishing or attempts to obtain passwords, verification codes or banking information;
- stealing or attempting to steal another person's property; or
- deliberately developing a romantic or personal relationship in order to cause financial loss.
Never ask another VIDA member for account passwords, one-time security codes or banking credentials.
9. Harassment, stalking, threats and blackmail
VIDA does not permit conduct intended to intimidate, humiliate, frighten, control or repeatedly harass another person.
This includes:
- credible threats of violence;
- stalking;
- repeated unwanted contact;
- bullying or targeted humiliation;
- blackmail or extortion;
- threatening somebody because they rejected you;
- publishing or threatening to publish private information;
- doxxing;
- encouraging others to harass a person; or
- attempting to punish a member for blocking, rejecting or reporting you.
Disagreement, rejection or an argument does not justify threats or harassment.
10. Hate, discrimination and identity-based abuse
VIDA members are free to decide who they want to date, message or meet.
You are not required to be romantically or sexually interested in any particular person or category of people.
However, VIDA does not permit targeted hate, degrading abuse, threats or dehumanizing content directed at a person or group because of protected or personal characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability or other legally protected status.
Being uninterested in somebody is not a violation. Harassing, threatening or degrading them because of who they are can be.
Do not report somebody merely because:
- they are transgender;
- they use VIDA's Trans category;
- their gender identity is not your personal preference;
- they rejected you; or
- you do not wish to date them.
Malicious use of VIDA's reporting system may itself result in action.
11. Violence, coercion, exploitation and trafficking
VIDA must not be used to threaten, organize, facilitate, promote or carry out violence or exploitation.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- credible threats of physical harm;
- sexual violence;
- coercive control;
- kidnapping or unlawful restraint;
- forced labour or servitude;
- trafficking in persons;
- facilitating the exploitation of another person's prostitution;
- recruitment or transportation of people for exploitation;
- forced criminal activity; or
- using threats, debt, deception, substances or abuse of vulnerability to exploit another person.
VIDA may preserve relevant information and report suspected serious criminal conduct to competent authorities where required or permitted by law.
12. Child safety and sexual exploitation of minors
VIDA has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation or abuse of minors.
For these Guidelines, a minor is a person under 18.
You must not use VIDA to:
- sexualize, groom or sexually exploit a minor;
- seek sexual contact with a minor;
- create, possess, request, advertise, transmit, distribute or link to child sexual abuse material;
- encourage a minor to create sexual material;
- facilitate child sexual exploitation or trafficking;
- sexualize images of minors; or
- assist another person in any of these activities.
Do not upload a profile photograph showing an unclothed minor or a minor in sexualized circumstances.
A minor should not be the sole subject of a VIDA profile photograph.
Where a minor appears incidentally in an ordinary family or social photograph, the content must be non-sexual, appropriate and lawfully shared. VIDA may remove images containing minors where necessary to protect safety or privacy.
Do not redistribute suspected child sexual abuse material in order to report it. Use VIDA's reporting process and, where appropriate, contact the competent authorities.
VIDA may preserve relevant evidence and make legally required reports concerning suspected offences against minors.
13. Illegal activity and dangerous transactions
Do not use VIDA to organize, advertise, buy, sell or facilitate illegal goods, services or criminal conduct.
This includes, where unlawful:
- illegal drugs;
- weapons;
- stolen goods;
- counterfeit goods;
- fraudulent documents;
- hacking or unauthorized access services; or
- other criminal transactions.
VIDA is a social-discovery service, not a marketplace for regulated or illegal goods.
14. Spam, promotion and misuse of VIDA
VIDA is intended for genuine social interaction.
Do not use VIDA primarily to:
- send repeated unsolicited advertising;
- promote products or services to large numbers of members;
- recruit members into pyramid, referral or investment schemes;
- drive traffic or followers to another account, website or platform through spam;
- repeatedly send identical or substantially similar unsolicited messages;
- operate bots or automated messaging;
- scrape member information;
- create large numbers of disruptive accounts; or
- otherwise manipulate VIDA's systems or members for commercial reach.
Normal consensual exchange of telephone numbers, WhatsApp details, social-media accounts or other contact information between adults is allowed.
Sharing contact information does not permit spam, fraud, harassment or commercial solicitation.
15. Privacy and private information
Respect other people's privacy.
Do not:
- publish another person's private contact information without permission;
- disclose somebody's home address, financial information or account credentials;
- secretly obtain or distribute another person's private material through unlawful access;
- threaten to expose private conversations or information in order to control somebody;
- use another person's private information for stalking, fraud or harassment; or
- share another person's intimate material without their consent.
Information someone chooses to share with you privately does not automatically become yours to publish.
16. Other people's photographs and intellectual property
Only upload or share content that you are entitled to use.
Do not knowingly use:
- another person's photographs as though they are your own;
- copyrighted material you have no right to distribute;
- another person's likeness in a deceptive profile;
- trademarks or branding in a way that falsely suggests affiliation; or
- other material that unlawfully infringes intellectual-property or image rights.
Copyright and intellectual-property complaints can also be submitted through VIDA's Copyright & IP Complaints process.
17. Serious conduct outside VIDA
VIDA does not monitor members' private lives generally.
However, VIDA may take account action based on credible information concerning serious off-platform conduct where it directly affects the safety or integrity of the VIDA community.
Examples may include:
- violence or sexual assault involving somebody met through VIDA;
- stalking or serious harassment that began through VIDA;
- fraud against a VIDA member;
- trafficking or exploitation;
- threats connected to a VIDA interaction; or
- other serious unlawful conduct presenting a credible risk to members.
VIDA may consider the reliability, seriousness and relevance of available information before taking action.
This provision does not mean VIDA guarantees that it can investigate or verify every event occurring outside the service.
18. Reporting concerns
Use VIDA's reporting tools when you reasonably believe another member has violated these Guidelines or presents a genuine safety concern.
Reports should be made in good faith.
Do not use reporting to punish somebody because they:
- did not reply;
- rejected you;
- ended a conversation;
- blocked you;
- would not meet you;
- are transgender or use the Trans category; or
- are simply not somebody you personally wish to date.
VIDA may review relevant account information, profile content, messages, reports and other authorized evidence when investigating a report.
Reporter information and internal moderation information are handled according to VIDA's Privacy & Data Policy and moderation controls.
Submitting a report does not guarantee a particular enforcement outcome.
19. How VIDA may enforce these Guidelines
VIDA may consider the nature, seriousness, context, evidence, previous conduct and safety risk associated with a violation.
Depending on the circumstances, action may include:
- removing content;
- warning a member;
- restricting a feature;
- temporarily suspending an account;
- permanently banning an account;
- preventing attempts to evade a ban;
- preserving relevant evidence; or
- reporting information to competent authorities where legally required or appropriate.
VIDA is not required to use every enforcement step in order.
Serious safety, exploitation, fraud or legal concerns may result in immediate restriction or removal without a prior warning.
VIDA may retain records needed to enforce restrictions, prevent repeat abuse, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.
If you believe VIDA has taken enforcement action against your account in error, you may contact [email protected]. Contacting VIDA does not guarantee that an enforcement decision will be reversed.
